With the guidance of the Central Bank of Myanmar GTB using GTB Pay and GTB Agent and GTB Merchant Application, is contributing towards development of payment system used by public, reducing handling of cash, promoting digital monetary services and national economic development beginning from fiscal 2024-2025. And GTB Pay user totaled 24,814 while GTB Agent user and GTB Merchant user numbered 180 and 4,480 corresponding as of 31st March 2025.

The GTB Pay users can have their GTB Pay linked to their accounts with GTB, the transactions with the use of bank account amounted to more than Kyats 1.43 billion, those with GTB Agent amounted to over Kyats 1.89 billion, those with Wallet to Wallet (P to P) amounted to over Kyats 1.75 billion, those with Wallet to Merchant amounted to over Kyats 0.02 billion, those with Bill payment (P to B) amounted to over 0.16 billion and those with electricity bill payment (P to G) amounted to over Kyats 2.53 billion as of 31st March 2025. Moreover, the transaction with the use of GTB Wallet totaled over Kyats 7.78 billion in fiscal 2024-2025.

Additionally, to comply with the guidance of the CBM, GTB Pay is being linked to MyanmarPay (MMQR). To enable GTB Pay users to cash in/ cash out activities with the Wave Money Agents, GTB is taking necessary measures. Moreover, GTB is negotiating with True Money to enable Myanmar Migrant workers working abroad to remit some portion of their income to their family members in Myanmar smoothly.
